The GPS tethering application offers a reliable method for utilizing location services on an iPad without cellular connectivity. By establishing a tethered connection via a personal hotspot from an iPhone, users can access high-precision location data seamlessly.

In practice, the procedure involves initiating the Personal Hotspot feature on the iPhone—without requiring Bluetooth—and launching the LOCAMO app on both devices. Once the app is running on the iPad and the 'Use TexaGPS' option is enabled within LOCAMO's preferences, the device can automatically obtain enhanced location information, even in the absence of built-in GPS or cellular capabilities.

The application also includes a location data recording function, capturing core location information for subsequent replay or transmission to LOCOMO, which has replaced the previous RouteRR name.

It is important to note that continuous GPS usage in the background may significantly impact battery life, which users should consider during prolonged operation.

• For developers, the app leverages the Location Tethering API, available free of charge. Future updates will include a TexaGPS client API for testing core location simulation. Developers will be able to load custom location data via JSON format using endpoints such as http://IP_ADDRESS:12345/TexaGPS/result.json.
